About Us

One of the last to undertake National Service David came home to Northampton in 1959 to join a pre arranged partnership that would last for the next 22 years and claim a historic first in transferring the family business to a common ownership company.

The company were pioneers in many respects with their windows becoming synonymous with imaginative displays winning the company many national awards. David’s ideas won him constant acclaim so to did the lavish jewellery parties for which they became famous.

1987 saw a new partnership with Kirsten and David marrying. Kirsten’s background in accountancy and marketing for 80 jewellery shops nationwide has now turned full circle with a reputation for some of the best cuisine available locally in Berridges first floor restaurant.

Whilst Christopher and David were at Croydons in Ipswich they formed a close working relationship and so when Berridges opened in October 1994 it was an obvious choice for them to work together on this new venture.

Christopher has always had a keen eye for fine antique jewellery and has recently been elected to the National Association of Goldsmiths Valuations committee who oversee the quality of jewellery valuations undertaken by its members.

Christopher’s wife Angela has brought a breath of fresh air to the established team with a creative flair that enhances the smart shop décor.

So this team has more experience than many older established companies with a keen sense of local loyalty.
